❄️ Sunday shelves ❄️
Short stories are usually hit or miss for me, but every now and then I find a collection that really stands out. The stories in Friday Black are racially charged and each is told from a unique perspective. My personal favorites were The Finkelstein 5 and Zimmer Land; both so powerful and urgent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . Do you have any short story recs??
This is where I’ll be all morning. ☕️ . I’m thankful for some extra reading time this Thanksgiving, and I think The Dutch House will be one of my favorite novels of the year. 100 pages in and my heart’s already broken. 😭 . What are you reading during your Thanksgiving break??
Mini Book Review: The Night Circus . For me, the draw towards this book was the imagery. The story, itself was indeed captivating and intriguing, but I was more taken by the descriptiveness of the circus. This book was such a delight to read. The world Morgenstern created was mysterious and immersive, and I wanted so badly to visit Le Cirque des Rêves at midnight. For those who love the element of magic and vivid representation in their stories. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . I know I’m behind to the party with this one, but have you read The Night Circus? Now that I’m a Morgenstern convert, I think it’s time for me to pick up The Starless Sea.
